Dear Colleagues:

NADOHE has joined 36 other higher education associations in the filing of an amicus brief in support of Affirmative Action in the case of Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard Corporation. The brief, organized by the American Council for Education (ACE), was filed in U.S. District Court on July 30, 2018.  It can be found here.

NADOHE and the other Amici support Harvard University's argument that a diverse student body is essential to the educational objectives of colleges and universities, and that each institution should be able to exercise its academic judgment to determine, consistent with prior precedent, the diversity that will advance its own particular mission. NADOHE also believes that holistic applicant review remains a cornerstone for the consideration of race in admissions.
