FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 10, 2018 – Fort Lauderdale, FL. – NADOHE has endorsed the first International Pronouns Day, scheduled for October 17, 2018, which seeks to encourage asking, sharing and respecting personal pronouns so that individuals can identify their gender in a manner consistent with human dignity.  Being referred to by the wrong pronouns particularly affects transgender and gender nonconforming people, including those on college and university campuses. As educators and higher education diversity professionals, NADOHE supports initiatives that create inclusivity and promote equitable experiences for people of all gender identities.

As the pre-eminent voice for diversity officers in higher education, NADOHE’s mission is to lead higher education towards inclusive excellence through institutional transformation. For more information about NADOHE, please go to visit www.nadohe.org.
