Jeanne J. Arnold, MSW, Ed.D. Bio

Jeanne J. Arnold was appointed as the Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer (CDEIO) and Chief of Staff at St. Francis College on July 1, 2021. As their first CDEIO, Dr. Arnold oversees SFC's agenda to foster a learning and working environment that supports an increasingly diverse student body and workforce. As Chief of Staff, she works closely with Miguel Martinez-Saenz, Ph.D., President of St. Francis College, to help guide the senior leadership team in the College's daily operations. 

Prior to joining SFC, Dr. Arnold served for seven years as inaugural Chief Diversity Officer at Gettysburg College, where she led the development and implementation of the institution’s first inclusion action plan and campus climate study, among many other accomplishments.  Dr. Arnold had a similar inaugural role as VP for Inclusion and Equity at Grand Valley State University for nearly seven years prior to Gettysburg.  While there, she established the first Native American Community Advisory Board and co-authored an article, The Journey to an Inaugural Chief Diversity Officer: Preparation, Implementation and Beyond. From 1995 to 2007, Dr. Arnold filled administrative roles at the University of Pennsylvania, the last four years as the Executive Director of the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Programs.  

Dr. Arnold received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and social welfare from Pennsylvania State University. She earned a master of social work and doctorate in higher education management, both from the University of Pennsylvania.
