Tonya C. Bailey (she/her/hers) is an accomplished executive leader offering over 25 years of experience in the higher education leading, transforming student programming, planning and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion collegewide initiatives, coaching, & teaching. She earned her Ph.D. studies in the Higher Educational Leadership program at Central Michigan University, received her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Michigan, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications. As Lansing Community College’s Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Bailey creates large-scale DEIAJ efforts and oversees the college’s strategic planning initiatives on DEI; serves on the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for three campus essential functions for intentional success (Cesar Chavez Learning Center; Centre for Engaged Inclusion and the Equity Center). Additionally, Dr. Bailey is the creator and host of the college’s podcast-based broadcast show entitled Arts, Artist and Advocates which focuses on a series of conversations and performances that explore diversity, equity, and inclusion through arts and activism. She is the owner and founder of TCB Consulting that specializes in diversity, equity, and inclusion training and professional development services. Dr. Bailey serves the community in numerous capacities including as Executive Board Member of the Michigan Health Council, Michigan Coronavirus Taskforce on Racial Disparities Michigan Racial Disparities, and the Community Based Organization Partners - Community Ethics Review Board.
